One Question Friday

Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.

It is my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.

And now...the question:

North?

South?

East?
or
West?

**come read what I wrote over at 5 Minutes for Faith today.

  1. East. Because my husband and I just had a discussion last night about how, in the Bible, east-facing houses were the norm. We liked the fact that ours just happens to be pointing that direction.

    Happy weekend!

  2. North, because it's so hot right now, I could use a little of the northern snow to cool me down.

  3. West - because every time my husband has moved us it has been farther West.

  4. South y'all, is there any other answer! Dogwoods and azaleas in the spring, cool dips in the pool on a hot summer day with a refreshing cold sweet tea waiting to quench your thirst, home grown tomatoes in my backyard, saying "Hey!" and know that even if you don't know the person it is always the polite and friendly thing to do to give them a wave and a smile as you pass them on the street!

    Blessings y'all

  5. South...it's prettier down south and the people are nicer.

  6. West. I grew up in California, currently live in the Rockies. Beaches and mountains...what could be better?

  7. West. I've lived in California all my life and even though I love visiting back east, I'm always really happy to come home! :) Happy Friday, Wendy!

  8. West. Because when I think of it I think of mountains, rocky and wild. I think of that vast plain in Montana that I drove through with my family. I think of cowboys and brave women. I dream of freedom when I think of the west. :-)

  9. South because I prefer warmer temps.

  10. definitely South... I hate to be cold! I love the plant life that grows in the South, and the accents are more fun!

and WEST!! I grew up in California and I miss it so much now that I'm in the East. I do love being on the East coast ... but there's just something about the magnificance of the west -- the grand canyon, yosemite, desert ... ***sigh***

  11. North. Can't help it--Michigan born and raised!

  12. Best! Whatever is best for me as deigned by the Lord. I'm still begging for him to align me with His will so this goes in line with my new line of thinking.

  13. I look forward to your questions on Friday. I find out as much about myself as I do about others on this blog! Thanks!
I'd say West because I love sunsets that paint the horizon pink and orange and shades of lavendar.

  14. Did i spell lavender wrong? So sorry. I often spell i with a lower case i on purpose, to remind myself that i'm not all that important as an I inidicates.

  15. West! I guess because it reminds me of the mountains and I love the mountains! I can see them outside my window (to the west) right now.

  16. North cause that's where home is and I just got a call that our best friend is in the hospital. Wish I could go that direction today.

  17. North...as right now, in my life, I need to find Truth and for me, God is always up from where my circumstances seem to have me. :) (New your blog...loving it! :) )

  18. East. I love the new beginning of every day and of each stage of life. I like each new season, each new person I meet, and the hope of new things to come.

  19. North! I want to drive up to PA to be on my parents huge deck over-looking the valley golf course and let my 2 year old run around in their huge yard. After the kids go to bed - i want to snuggle with my husband on their really comfortable outdoor glider and look for shooting stars...

  20. The south! I love the warmth, the friendly people, sweet tea, fried green tomatoes and other southern country cooking.

  21. North is usually "up" and since I know we are to set our minds on things above then North it is!

  22. I would answer "none of the above." I grew up in the Northeast, and there was home; I conducted research in Siberia (also North and East), and there, too, was home. I now live in the Southwest, and there is now home. I work all over the globe. I love the Far East and will be in Korea next month; I also love the Middle East, and was in Jordan, the Holy Land, last month. I really love the Holy Land, but there are other places in the East that I love as well, such as Russia and the former Soviet republics. I finished my education in Russia, thanks to a kindly university president and vice-president. I have spent years in the South, as in Latin America, and am in contact regularly with people in several Latin countries; just this morning a priest (friend) from Colombia said a prayer for my granddaughter's surgery today. As for the West, well, I am also heading to Germany and Austria next month and hope to get a few days away from business to stay with a friend who lives in the Alps. Oh, how I love the Alps! Help! I cannot choose; East-West-North-South, I love them all, and I love the people who live there. So, sorry, I guess I cannot answer your Friday question, but it is an interesting one.

  23. I was thinking south in my head. Then I asked my husband (who is sitting beside me) and he said north. So what does that say about us? :)

But now that I'm really thinking about it - I say west. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's my mood. I'd love to be driving through some mountains right now, listening to music on the radio (much like the music you have playing on your blog).

  24. North is the magic of aurora borealis and Mackinac Island charm.

South is sunshine in my windows, welcome any month in Michigan.

West is my home in Colorado, and its firey sunsets behind majestic mountians.

East is sunrise, each one a reminder of the Son's return from Jerusalem.

If I must choose only one, give me the Son.

  25. Wow! I need to write that I'm thoroughly enjoying your responses. I'll take this moment to remind everyone I don't usually personally comment on Fridays because I always want you to feel open and free to respond without wondering what I might write back. I'm thankful I've thrown these questions out there. I'm learning.

I pray you are able to experience the intimacy of God's love this weekend,
    ~ Wendy

  26. East--for that is the direction the sun rises in.

Also just wanted to thank you for your elephant/mosquito post. It was amazing and dead on. Thank you!

  27. Oh my goodness, I am laughing out loud at Robin's comment, and WHOLEHEARTEDLY agreeing! Love the South, where oil is ol', get is git, and it ain't good unless it's deep fried!

    Have a great weekend Wendy!

  28. North--I'm dreaming of the Olympic Penninsula.

    ReplyDelete
  29. East...for the East Coast, Romania and sunrise!
West...for Wild West, Gold Rush and obviously sunset!
South...although not scientifically correct, for being almost sinonimous with warmth!
North...for aurora borealis, sitting on top of the world and Santa's homeland!

  30. South. I love to be outside and anything facing south gets the most sun, or at least it seems that way to me.
