One Question Friday (on Thursday)

I’m going to be spotty posting over the next week and a half.

A mini blog hiatus for me.

Every Friday (Thursday, in this case) I’m going to ask a
question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.

It is my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.

And now for your Question:

Mercurial Release or Stolid Grasp?

  1. You finally stumped me on one of these questions. I honestly don't know.

  2. Mercurial Release - I'm definitely not stolid.

  3. Wendy, I can always seem to make a decision between the two options but it's often quite a challenge to articulate why. I'm definitely going with mercurial release. I like the flow of that.

And I LOVE the picture with both hands full of dandelion seeds. It reminds me of my NaNo manuscript.

  4. This is really tough!
I'll go with mercurial release because it seems lively and fun--like throwing confetti in the air. :)

  5. Wow, I thought I had a great vocabulary, Wendy but you got me on this one. I had to look up mercurial. Since it means "lively, witty, fast-talking, and likely to do the unexpected," I MUST choose it. That describes me to the bone.

Bless you. I love these! Keep 'em comin',
    Jen

  6. Feeling stupid here. I have no idea what either of those mean and my dictionary isn't handy. Sorry, I'm sitting this one out.

  7. I like Jennifer's answer. The reason: cause I couldn't think of anything myself.

  8. Wendy - Mercurial release, though I've grown more moderate and tolerant over the years.

  9. I was unsure of what these meant until I read the comments. Thank you, dear commenters. LOL~
I wish I was the mercurial type, but I think I tend to be stolid. The more emotional a situation, the more stolid I get. LOL

  10. I'm not into the stolid grasp--it gets too slippery! I'm a mercurial release gal!

  11. Huh? I think maybe I'm a little slow today. Gorgeous pictures though.

  12. Outwardly, stolid and smooth. But inside it's more mercurial, because I can't keep my thoughts and emotions under leash.

  13. Moderate and tolerant is something I strive for so stolid grasp.

  14. I smiled as I read these comments because I wasn't the only one who got stumped. But after looking in the dictionary, I must say mercurial release! :)

  15. Wendy: You won the Julie Cantrell's children's books on my blog! Send me your snail mail and I'll mail them out to you! :)

  16. okay....i don't have a dictionary handy either and i'm on a PC at work that i HATE (b/c mac is infinitely superior)...so i'm going to go with mercurial release...mainly b/c i don't like the sound of stolid.

Win a copy of Erica Vetsch's debut novel, The Bartered Bride at Where Romance Meets Therapy

and my word verification was SUCKS. what do you think of that?

  17. Most DEFINITELY mercurial release! I am by no means "apathetic". I'm more like an explosion! You know, like a fire cracker, shoots up into the sky, leaving a long trail of sparks and then BOOM!!! Yeah...mercurial...that would be me :)

    Happy Thanksgiving,
    Jen

  18. Sometimes I think I come off stolid and indifferent, but in all honesty...mercurial release. Definitely.

  19. A mix of both. Depends on the day. Wish I were more predictable, but alas.... I am not.
