Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.
Play it safe or Walk on the wild side?
It’s my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.

Walk on the wild side! Even though a big part of me wishes I'd just play it safe, already! Take up something a little less intimidating than sharing words and stories. Or just stick with our one little boy and not jump into this crazy thing called adoption.
ReplyDeleteMy answer is the exact opposite of Katie's. I'd say I'm definitely "play it safe," but I wish it were "walk on the wild side." I don't like getting out of my comfort zone, but I'm definitely working on that. I'm ready to try some things I've been too afraid to do in the past.
ReplyDeleteI play it safe. You can accomplish so much more when you consider mitigate the risks first.
ReplyDeleteThis one is easy. I play it safe most of the time, although I'm forcing myself out of my comfort zone more often these days and am reaping the benefits.
ReplyDeleteYou're a shining example of how to live life outside the envelope and embrace it fully, Wendy. That's one of the many things I love about you.
I've played it safe too often ... and I've learned to like walking on the wild side more and more.
ReplyDeleteThere.
My answer.
:)
Walk on the wild side! Playing it safe never got me anywhere. And I love the adventure God takes me on when I jump up on the tightrope and trust Him.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of Narnia.
"Is he safe?"
"No, but He's good." :) Have a great weekend.
I used to play it safe all the time--now I like an occasional walk on the wild side. :)
ReplyDeleteMy natural tendency = play it safe.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm trying to do more often (little by little, of course) = walk on the wild side.
Yeah, play it safe. Walking on the wild side for me is probably doing laundry on Thursday instead of Friday - or worse, grocery shopping on Tuesday instead of Monday! Ahhh! Maybe I need more adventure in my life :)
ReplyDeleteI loved to be able to say that I'm a "walk on the wild side" kind of person, but I'm a totally play it safe.
ReplyDeleteIn my writing/speaking career, wild side. I've taken many risks that turned out well.
ReplyDeleteIn my relationships, safe.
I love Fridays here! You are so clever.
I wish I could walk on the wild side. I imagine what it might be like. But at heart, I'm a cautious gal, so I'll have to say Play it Safe.
ReplyDeleteI've done/do a lot of both. Variety truly is the spice of life. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a play it safe girl. Don't always like that about myself...sometimes it feels "chicken". Stepping out and being brave is so hard for me.
ReplyDeleteDepends on the situation.
ReplyDeleteI do both.
My gut would say play it safe. But then I'm writing books, and that's all about walking on the wild side. ;)
ReplyDeleteDepends on what you mean by the 'wild side'. According to most of the world, I play it safe b/c I don't drink, have a husband and child at 25, and live with my mother.
ReplyDeleteBut at the same time, I'm not afraid to take risks that put me out of my comfort zone. Compared to a lot of people I know, I walk on the wild side because I write books, something they would never dream of being able to do.
99% of the time I play it safe. One crazy risk: meeting my husband online and marrying him. :) It worked out great.
ReplyDeleteI think I play it safe more often then not. But I do like to take a walk on the wild side every once in awhile. When I do is usually makes me feel exhilirated to be alive!
ReplyDeletePlay it safe. Always have been. Probably always will be. I consider it part of my introverted nature...
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday, Wendy!
Walk on the wild side for sure!
ReplyDeleteOk, tell me in a month what you think about Google +. I am sitting back and can't take on one more thing!
