Moving Thoughts Friday

Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.

It’s my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.

Do it all over again or Not on your life?

  1. Not on your life! A friend of mine and I have had this discussion many times and decided that if we could redo some parts of our lives, the only way we would is if we could redo them with all the wisdom we've gained on the other side of that experience! Besides, as much as I enjoy the memories of some of my younger days, I really like where I am right now.

  2. Do it all over again, but only if I can qualify that by saying I'd have to have at *least* 10% of the experience and knowledge I've gained over the past 50 years if I was time traveling back to point A. :)

  4. Do it all over again, because that's what's made me who I am today.

  5. Some parts I'd do all over again in a heartbeat. Some parts I'd like to redo again so I could get them right this time. Some parts I close my eyes and pretend they didn't happen because they were such a nightmare.

On the whole, I'll just keep looking forward.

  6. Not on your life. I love the journey I've traveled, but I'm even more excited about where I'm headed. :)

  7. Woo! That's a tough one. If I can go back knowing what I do now, maybe. I do love the journey I've had but there are so many things I would have changed. I've also had a huge dose of coffee and my brain is spastic. I'm having trouble deciding!

  8. So tough! I'd be tempted to do it all over again, but what if my do-over ended up worse than my original attempt? No, I think I'll stick to "not on your life." No way do I want to be an adolescent again and I am excited for the road ahead and very content with my life. God's grace has been on my life and I know I'm blessed! (I think it's a choose-your-own-adventure addiction that tempted me to answer the first way. :) I'm reading them with my kids right now and it's fun to go back and see what would have happened if your character had chosen differently.)

  10. I'd keep it.

Well ... maybe not the seventh grade. Could we just skip junior high? :)

  11. NOT on your life! Too many boo-boos, wrong turns, and downright sins. I'd like a fresh life, please. Oh, wait, Jesus already gave me one! Almost forgot.

  12. Hands down, I'd live it over. I wouldn't have the most precious hubby and kids if I didn't. I will take those mistakes, blunders, hard times, scary times, and all. I've learned and grown so much along the way.

  13. Yes ... do it all over again.
This is, after all, my life.

  14. There's always something better ahead, so why waste time rehashing the past?

  15. Well said, Timothy. And every day lived is a day closer to heaven.

  16. Not on your life! I wouldn't want to go through the uncertainties of my younger days.

  17. I appreciate now the lessons that I have learned along the way, but they were hard. I wouldn't want to go back to do it again, not on my life!
