Moving Thoughts Friday

Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.

It’s my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.

Do you have a place you go…where everybody knows your name?

*Earlier this week I read Erica Vetsch’s answer here. You guys are getting good…answering these questions before I even get a chance to ask them. ;)

  1. Church. Does the soccer field count?

  2. LOL! my best friend and I have been meeting for lunch once a week for years. We always go to the same place! That place has changed 3-4 times through the years, but right now it is a Panera Bread. They don't know our names but all the workers definitely know us! It's a good feeling!

  3. My kids' school! Definitely. Us moms spend a lot of time there! And my local RWA chapter--we're small but we're tight-knit. :)

    Have a great weekend, Wendy!

  4. My church, my job, even most people in my hometown know me, since I write a column for the paper. My photo never appears with it, but people will tell me in a restaurant or store that they enjoy reading it. I need to be careful what I do and say in public!

  5. :) Thanks for the shout out. :D

Caribou is probably the place outside my home and church that the most people know my name.

What about you? Do you have a place like that?

  6. Love that theme song! Hmmm.....Cody Elementary School. I don't think they've forgotten me yet. Church. My Aunt Peggy's house. :)

  7. ACFW Conference!!! Well, maybe not everybody knows my name, but it sure feels like coming home. Can't wait for September! I also love visiting my sister in Connecticut at Thanksgiving. That's my other 'place'. Wish I could say church, but that's a long story...

  9. Our neighborhood. We all moved in around the same time. We used to have monthly Bunco nights but those have slowly faded with busyness.

  10. Yeah, my neighbors, my home, and my church (it's a very small congregation).

  12. I think my children's co-op school. I wish it was church but we are thousands upon thousands of members strong!

  13. Laura, Yep, home counts. It's on my list.

Soccer field counts, too, Heather. Another one on my list.

And ACFW gave me a sense of this. Sometimes church. Sometimes when friends get together or we have people over.

Hey Cathy, I know someone (hmm.) who lives in CT. Next time you plan a trip, email me.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a meaningful Father's Day.

    Missing my dad a little.

  14. The pharmacy my cousin works at - okay, so it's not as exciting as Cheers, but everyone does know my name there. Well, except some of the floaters, but all the regulars do, anyway. :)
