Light-seeds

The following verse stirred something in me recently & has been inspiring me every day since I discovered it:
Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people…
~from Psalm 97, The Message

*I’m going to be jumping on & off Blogger this week. I’ll be hard at work teaching a Creative Writing Workshop for 2nd-6th graders.

  9. And speaking of light, I love the verse in Philippians where it says we "shine like stars in the universe" as we "hold out the word of life." Beautiful picture.

  11. Wendy, I love the way that's worded! I know your classes will go wonderfully! They are gonna' love you.

  12. Tabitha, I loved it too. Still do. It's one of those that strikes at the core.

Patti, God is the inspiration. All God. The kids today were fantastic--willing to dive right in.

Terri, I'll keep you posted. I'm loving the experience so far.

Tamika, Thank you. We were in sync today.

Sarah, When I first read that verse I wanted to find picture to complement it. These are gorgeous, but they still don't quite touch the beauty of the verse.

Diane, I pray God does just that.

Keli, I know I did. The time flew.

T.Anne, I could pray that more than I do. I hope He does it even when I'm not praying it. And I hope I learn to ask that more.

Rhonda, We just vacationed in Maine--camped out actually and on my way to the bathrooms in the middle of the night (b/c what woman over the age of 20 doesn't have to go in the middle of the night?) I looked up and saw a sky covered with stars. Makes that verse all the more powerful.

    Cindy, I had a blast.

Karen, Exactly. I love how it's worded. I don't know if they loved me, but they did interact for two hours.

Thanks for the well wishes about the class. I've eaten enough chocolate to kill a dying horse. Well, anyway. What woman minutes away from entering the bloated zone doesn't eat that much chocolate? ;)

Sleep dreaming of stars, chocolate and light-seeds.

  13. Hi Wendy -

Teaching kids to write sounds like fun. I've thought about putting together a course and even have a few props. Do you write your own curriculum?

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  14. Susan,

It's been better than I'd anticipated. I contacted some of my writer friends and got some advice. Otherwise I pulled from my creative writing degree and my dozens of books on writing.

I ask a lot of questions, keep it interactive and encourage all thoughts. It's refreshed my outlook. I love when the teacher learns.

    Hope you try it.
