Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.
It is my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.
Should I be excited or concerned my child likes to ask questions as much as I do? Apparently her questions can be just as far out as mine.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I’m going to give you a question my eight-year-old wrote on a little piece of paper and set on my dresser for me to find (spelling and punctuation exactly as she wrote it).
Eat a hourse or color a tiger so he can eat you. Circle one.

Have at it and I’ll add, if you’re eating a "hourse," you’ll have to eat the whole entire thing or else the question might be too easy.
Happy Mother’s Day!!!

I think my belly would hurt if I ate a whole horse. I hope the tiger was declawed and is old with all his teeth fallen out. :O)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking being eaten by a tiger might hurt a little, so I'm going to go with eat a "hourse." Awesome question!!!
ReplyDeleteHm, but if we could swap and eat that tiger, then we'd be putting a tiger in our tank ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteBoth sound kind of painful--but I'd go with eating the horse. (not as bloody) :)
Happy Mother's day!
Well....I really don't want to be eaten, so I guess I'd have to do the eating. LOL
ReplyDeletehmmmm, I think I'd color the tiger becuase at least I'd be happy momentarily before I ... well ... died. (a horrid, violent death) ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to love an 8 year olds imagination! I'd colour the tiger by favorite colours. Then I'd know I was being eaten by a beauty I helped create.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Hmmmmm ... I would probably have to go with eating the horse (I'd never get to eat the whole thing anyway - my kids would see me eating something and come and get their share :-) but I would sure be sad to miss out on coloring the tiger! What a great question from an obviously brilliant 8 year old. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteColor a tiger. I love horses too much to eat one.
ReplyDeleteI think it's sweet how your daughter wanted to help you by offering a question for your blog. It's clear she's got your creative spirit. Enjoy your Mother's Day, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteOh wow... I would have to go with coloring the tiger...and praying that my coloring would take so long that he gets over his desire to eat me :) Great question!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!!
love the way kids put things...for me...grateful to be alive so I'll go with eat a hourse....want fries with that????
ReplyDeleteLOL What a creative mind your daughter has!
ReplyDeleteSince there's not a "none of the above" option, I guess I'll eat the horse. :-)
WOW! Where did that question come from?! LOL! I love the way kids' minds work.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd have to go with eating the hourse *sob*. Unless I had really cool, go-go-gadget sneakers so I could color the tiger and jump out of the way before he could get me. Hmmm ... option two is much more exciting.
Amy
Ug I'd eat the horse and yes you should be very excited!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! How cute your daughter put this question on your dresser. Very creative.
ReplyDeleteI love coloring, so I guess I'll have to color the tiger and then...well, I'll pray for the best :)
Have a SUPER Mother's Day!
Ha! I think I'd do almost anything to avoid being eaten by a tiger.
ReplyDeleteWow. I think your daughter is wise for her years. That's a deep question, Wendy, one which requires a choice between killing and risk of being killed. Wow again.
ReplyDeleteI chose coloring the tiger, all but his mouth. I will leave that blank, in hopes that he cannot eat me then. So there!
Happy Mother's Day!
Jen
Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteGreat question. Since I have a tamed Liger at home, I'm somewhat familiar with the styling preferences of felines. I choose to color the tiger happy - that way he won't gobble me up.
Shannon
I don't know how to color a tiger so that he can eat me. But, then again, I'd probably rather do that than eat a whole horse. (Wouldn't the bones be hard to eat?)
ReplyDeleteAwww, she's mini-Wendy! I'd have to color the tiger and just deal with getting eaten, because I LOVE HORSES. I get more upset when horses get shot (even if it is make-believe) in war movies or westerns than I do when actual people get shot!
ReplyDeleteI'd color the tiger, because I love to color and I could never eat a horse.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day/Weekend,
Lola
Hmm... I'd get a very long paint brush and take my chances with a tiger. I don't think I'd be able to get through an entire course of horse. My tummy is too tiny.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the bagels! Happy mommy day!
Ummmm, so if I choose the horse, I have to eat the whole thing, but if I color the tiger, then he gets to eat me. Well, I say eat the horse, 'cause you didn't say, how long to eat that horse, and I'd make mine a miniature.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the answers of Jeanette & Jen & Shannon which leave room to show grace to the tiger and avoid being eaten. Bravo, ladies.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I prefer small portions of meat, and for whatever reason, death hasn't frightened me even before I knew Jesus. So I'll keep company with the tiger.
I love hourses too much to eat one. So I'll color the tiger. Only I'm going to color him with cataracts and a stuffy nose and black out his teeth so he can't see, smell, or chew me.
ReplyDeleteWendy:
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. I can't imagine eating a whole hourse. I think I'd color the tiger and run like the wind.
I couldn't eat a hourse. That would make me too sad. I love riding horses, had a couple growing up. Horses aren't food. I'd color the tiger really slowly, so that it ate me up just at the end of my life.
ReplyDeleteOh my ... I think I'd just have to throw my hands up in the air and cry out: "I surrender!"
