Every Friday I’m going to ask a question. The questions I choose might be ambiguous on purpose. The goal is to have you answer the question according to your beliefs, where you’re at in life or a circumstance that might have recently impacted you. The only thing I ask is that you provide an explanation for why you answered the way you did.
It is my hope to understand you better through this and also to gain a greater understanding of humanity and how people make decisions.
The question—
Comfort food or adventurous cuisine?

I'm beginning to sound a bit indecisive, but I love both! I crave adventure food at times, but sometimes, it feels so good to nibble on a little comfort. Great question! (I love this little feature of yours. It always gets me thinking!)
ReplyDeleteAll of it looks yummy! There's food for adventure and lots of comfort too! I've become a Thai food lover and now I'm adventuring into Japanese menus. But nothing beats a grill cheese sandwich with a mug of tomato soup for comfort!
ReplyDeleteComfort food! Love your photos:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings for a happy weekend,
Karen
Definitely comfort food. I'm all about the familiar when it comes to food. I don't really like branching out and being adventurous when it comes to eating. Now, that's not to say someone won't have me try something new that I assumed I'd hate, end up loving it, and it be shoved into my comfort food category. It happens.
ReplyDeleteIt totally depends. Comfort food when I need comfort or adventurous food when I'm feeling adventurous. Emotional eating demands comfort food. Other times I try and stick to familiar ingredients, comforting ingredients, but will be adventurous with the unfamiliar if it has all the right stuff!
ReplyDeleteI hope I don't sound like I'm stradling (sp?) the fence here but I choose comfort and my food of choice is sushi. I can eat it twenty four seven. Just thinking of those yummy rolls makes my mouth water!! My husband knows what to feed me to make me happy. ;)
ReplyDeleteComfort food all the way. There are too many things I've spit out due to adventerous cooking. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard one, because depending on the circumstances, I love both so much! Since I grew up in Hong Kong and just spent the last eight years in China, I'm thinking that if you gave me one option that I had to eat for the rest of my life, of course I'd go with adventurous cuisine. Or maybe I'm just a little homesick for Asia at the moment!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I can't pick both, huh? Then at this time in my life I must say comfort food, because too often I get stressed and--ashamed to say--I use food to fill up my emotional gas tank as well as my tummy.
ReplyDeleteComfort food all the way. I'm not an adventurous eater.
ReplyDeleteComfort food. I'm not a big risk taker, plus there are a number of foods I don't like.
ReplyDeleteyep....comfort food. I love excitement and adventure but not in foods. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAll good Southern girls LOVE comfort food but adventurous cuisine has become my middle name! Love Thai food, Middle Eastern food--just shared a vegetarian plate of dolmas, baba ganoush, hummus, pita bread, olives, and tabouli with a friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! Have an ADVENTUROUS weekend!
Comfort food. :-) My husband always says I'm too picky because I really don't like trying new foods, esp. if they're an odd color, smell funny, or have a slimy, mushy texture. LOL
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not feeling well it's comfort food, but most of the time I want adventure-- especially Thai or similar. I love rich flavors, exotic spice, and hot n spicy. It's hard to get my life go along with it because she's a comfort foodie. Fortunately, our favorite Thai restaurant knows to fix her special dish of steamed rice and bland yellow curry while I go wild on the menu.
ReplyDeleteComfort food--hands down. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Wendy!
Comfort food for sure as I am not very adventurous either with food. I like what I like and it likes me!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy comfort food (who doesn't), but I'd take adventurous cuisine. That's one area in life I'm not afraid to try new things.
ReplyDeleteLove your Fridays, Wendy.
Wendy, it depends on my mood and location. I was adventurous when I was in Nigeria and got to try some wonderful new dishes. At this place in my life I would say comfort food. In fact I am going to enjoy a bowl of chili in a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteI like answering questions like this... but my choice would be f.e. food which means fast and effective (healthy)... but comfort would be the answer when I have the time.
ReplyDeleteInteresting question thanks for sharing it.

There have been times I have craved both. Right now at the season of life I am in I am craving comfort food. I am missing my family. I would love to live closer to them and share in more of those comfort meals.
ReplyDeleteMostly comfort, but every now and then, I'm adventurous. Okay, now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteI like both, adventurous is fun when my husband is trying out a new recipe or if we are out to eat. I love to try things new and different. Comfort foods are great for when we are having stressful days, or sick. We all have our favorites and even our favorites for different seasons.
ReplyDeleteAdventurous cuisine, always, always, always! It's a great way to expand horizons.
ReplyDeleteOh my ... that's a tough call! I'm a huge foodie and it depends on my mood. When I need comfort - comfort food. When I'm feeling adventurous - I walk on the wild side and try something new. I'm new here. I followed Warren Baldwin's link to your blog. I'm bookmarking you. LOVE it! your photography is awesome.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
Always comfort food. I'm not an adventurous eater.
ReplyDeleteI answered at http://awell-wateredgarden.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteComfort food. I have IBS. I don't need to aggrivate my system because of adventuresome food.
ReplyDeleteI'll eat absolutely anything someone else took the trouble to cook for me with love.
